Magnolia Regional Medical Center is committed to providing quality healthcare and service to all patients. In order to continue in this mission, it is essential that payment be received for services provided. As a courtesy to patients and their families, Magnolia Regional Medical Center submits medical claims to the insurance company. To do this efficiently, it is important that insurance information be presented at the time of service. An itemized bill for services by Magnolia Regional Medical Center wlil be sent upon request of the patient and/or the responsible party.
Patient Responsibilites
Medicare
Medicine taken by mouth or inhaled during an emergency room visit are not covered by Medicare and are the patient's responsibility. Also any test that Medicare requires a certain frequency of time to elapse before having another one will also be patient's responsibility. Tests ordered by patient's physician must meet medical necessity. If the diagnosis given by the phsciain does not, patient will be asked to sign an advanced beneficiary notice that service may not be covered and will owe.
Medicaid
If a Medicaid service requires a referral and one is not given by patient's Primary Care Physician, the patient will owe for services rendered.
Commercial Insurance
If an insurance company request additional information on behalf of the patient and the requested information is not submitted to the insurance company, the patient will be responsible for the balance of the account.
